DAR ES SALAAM: NATIONAL Football Team, Taifa Stars Interim Coach, Hemed Suleiman, has expressed confidence in his team’s readiness ahead of Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Ethiopia at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Wednesday.
Coach Suleiman made the remarks during the team’s drill at KMC Stadium in Dar es Salaam highlighting he is glad seeing his charges adapting quickly to the tactics ahead the Wednesday match. “
We started training last Friday and I am pleased with how quickly the players have adapted,” Suleiman said.
“The mix of experienced and promising talent in the squad gives me confidence that we are well-prepared for this high-stakes game.”
Suleiman called on Tanzanian fans to support the team as they aim to secure a crucial victory. “We hope for a strong turnout at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium to back us against Ethiopia,” he said.

The qualifiers will run to November 2024. The first and runners-up in the eleven (11) groups that do not involve tournament hosts Morocco, will gain qualification to the competition. Morocco is the only nation that is assured to participate in the competition on home ground.
Therefore they will approach this qualifying campaign with less pressure. The CAF Africa Cup of Nations is the biggest sporting event in Africa and the next championship will be held from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.
