In celebration of International
Women’s Day, SICPA Tanzania, a technology company enabling the Tanzanian
Government to authenticate and secure its vital assets through a platform for
sovereignty, is reaffirming its commitment to community well-being through a
meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, extending a
helping hand to cancer patients at the Ocean Road Cancer Institute in Dar es
Salaam by donating essential supplies. This compassionate initiative was
spearheaded by SICPA Tanzania’s General Manager, Mr. Alfred Mapunda, and
supported by the women employees of SICPA Tanzania.
The donation event took place on 7th March, where SICPA
Tanzania’s women employees personally distributed basic essentials to patients
undergoing treatment, engaging
with them, and sharing moments of encouragement and solidarity. This gesture aimed to alleviate some of the challenges
faced by cancer patients and their families.
This initiative reflects SICPA Tanzania’s dedication to fostering
a culture of care and making a positive social impact beyond its core business
operations. By supporting vulnerable groups in society, SICPA Tanzania aims to
contribute to the well-being of those in need, aligning with its broader
mission of helping local authorities meet their ambitious goals.
As
a leader in secure authentication and traceability, and fuel integrity
solutions, SICPA Tanzania recognizes the importance of giving back to the
communities in which it operates. This donation aligns with the company’s
broader CSR mission, which includes supporting health, education, and
sustainable development initiatives that positively impact lives. It also
contributes to advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in
Tanzania.
“At SICPA Tanzania, we believe in using our resources not only to
drive innovation and security in tax compliance but also to uplift communities
and improve lives. This Women’s Day, we recognize the strength and resilience
of women battling cancer, and we are honored to provide support through this
donation,” said Mr. Alfred Mapunda, General Manager of SICPA Tanzania.
SICPA Tanzania is recognized for its role in powering the
Tanzanian Government’s tax compliance efforts through the Electronic Tax Stamps
(ETS) system, which has significantly contributed to revenue growth and
Tanzania Revenue Authorities’ efforts to curb illicit trade. The company’s
dedication to public service extends beyond tax compliance, as demonstrated
through initiatives like this Women’s Day donation drive.
